Potato salad is one among most widely used salads and most of the people like this. The following tips may help you to make potato salad.
Ingredients for Warm Potato Salad
Potato – one pound with skin on
Dill butter – four tablespoon
Capers – one tablespoon of chopped ones
Shallots – chopped shallots of about one tablespoon
Ingredients for Dill Butter
Dry white wine – two tablespoon
Butter – eight tablespoon of unsalted and room temperature butter
Dill – one tablespoon of fresh and chopped dill
Salt – half teaspoon
Black pepper – one teaspoon of freshly and finely ground black pepper
Preparation of Dill Butter
Take a heavy saucepan and to this add two tablespoon of dry white wine. Allow the wine to boil then lower the flame and then add two tablespoon butter to it. You have to whisk the wine and butter mixture constantly till the entire butter gets dissolved and blended in the wine. Then add two tablespoon butter to this mixture and stir well and like wise add the left out butter to this mixture. While adding butter makes sure that the mixture is not boiling. Now remove the mixture from the heat and add the chopped one tablespoon dill, half teaspoon salt and one teaspoon grounded black pepper. Combine the entire mixture very well and your dill butter is ready to use.
Preparation of Potato Salad
Take potatoes and wash well to remove the dirt and soil. Then put them in salt water and boil till the potatoes becomes tender and the skin can be peeled off easily. Then get the potatoes back from the water and peel off the skin. Now mash the potatoes lightly with one fork and keep aside. Toss the mashed potatoes with four tablespoon warm dill butter, one tablespoon of chopped shallots and one tablespoon of chopped capers. You can also add parsley, gherkins and olive oil to your salad to improve the taste and appearance. Now you can serve your warm potato salad.
