Keep some extra flour for rolling. You can lightly toast the walnuts and then roughly chop them.

Steps for Making Walnut and Orange Biscotti

First of all preheat your oven to 325 F and then grease a nice baking tray lightly. After that you need to sift the baking soda, baking powder and flour in a big bowl. After that, stir in the sugar. Mix vanilla, orange peel, and eggs in a separate bowl. Now you need to combine the flour mixture with the egg mixture nicely. You should knead with your hands in order to make stiff dough. Now mix the walnuts with the dough on a slightly floured surface.

Roll Out the Logs

Make three equal portions of the dough. Roll out one portion to make a log about 30 centimeters long. It should be about 4 centimeters wide. Repeat the same procedure with the other portions of dough and then place them on a baking tray. You should bake until the logs become a little golden. Let the logs cool for about 15 minutes after removing from the oven.

Bring down the oven temperature to 300 F. Once the biscotti logs become cool chop them into slices. Each slice should be 1 centimeter thick. Take two greased baking trays and place the slices to form on single layer. Next bake the biscotti for about 15 minutes.
