Vodafone, the prominent global cell phone carrier, has launched a social network aggregation service named Vodafone 360. It has also unveiled two smartphones designed by Samsung, dubbed Vodafone 360 H1 and Vodafone 360 M1, which will be the first phones to use Vodafone 360.
Featuring the proximity algorithm based user interface designed by LiMo, the Vodafone devices will use Vodafone 360 service to synchronize all messages, contacts, pictures and music with the PC. The synchronizing task can be done either wirelessly or by connecting to the PC through the USB port fitted to the mobile phone handset. With the Vodafone 360 service, users can access their favorite social network sites instantly. To send different messages to different contact groups, Vodafone 360 allows users to categorize social networking sites according to their specific function.
Vodafone 360 will also enable instant messaging and chatting through Google Talk and Windows Live Messenger. Besides the two Samsung handsets running on the LiMo platform, Vodafone 360 will also be preloaded in upcoming Nokia handsets using the Symbian operating system. Existing Symbian-based Nokia phone users can expect to download the Vodafone 360 suite in the near future from the Vodafone app store.
