Teen Acne Solutions
Acne is an inflammatory disease affecting the skin. Acne commonly affects the teenagers and it affects the teen’s confidence also. Teenagers are affected mostly because at puberty their body starts to produces hormone androgen. Androgen is a male sex hormone and both girls and boys have this hormone at the time of puberty. This hormone may affect the sebaceous gland present in the skin and produces more sebum. Sebum is an oily substance and it moves towards the skin surface through the hair follicles which opens on the skin surface.
This sebum along with the cells on the skin surface gives space for the bacteria to grow. When these bacteria grows and clogs the pores the pimples develops on the skin. Any other objects like cosmetics that blocks the pores may also lead to acne.
Solutions for Teen Acne
If you are a person prone to have acne then keeps your self neat and clean. Wash your face and body at least twice a day with warm water. Also use a cleanser to remove the dirt. If the cleansers do not remove the oiliness of the skin, then you can use medicated lotions for skin cleaning. But while using any lotion make sure it contains either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid as this helps to clean the pores and stops their break out.
Ex-foliate the Skin
Ex-foliate you skin with mild ex-foliate that constitute smooth grains. Harsh ex-foliates may cause adverse effect as the large grains may tear your skin and cause more irritations. It may also trigger the sebaceous gland to produce more oil and thus aggravates the acne problems.
Don’t try to squeeze the pimples because it may take bacteria deep in to the skin. This may also cause inflammation and scarring on the skin.
If you have moderate or mild acne then you can apply essential oil topically. You can also dilute the essential oil by mixing it with grape seed oil. This may give better results. The best essential oils used for treating acne are clove oil, tea tree oil, lavender oil, bergamot oil, rose wood oil etc.
