Samsung’s Gravity has arrived on T-Mobile with a new look and upgraded features. Samsung Gravity 2 is a slimmer version of Gravity, which was launched last year. While retaining several earlier features of Gravity, including slide-out keyboard, Bluetooth, music player and messaging options, the new Samsung Gravity 2 has incorporated advanced navigation controls, 3G connectivity and A-GPS. Gravity 2 is also cheaper than its predecessor is, which is currently available from T-Mobile for $50.

Samsung Gravity 2 comes with a horizontal slide-out full QWERTY keyboard. The messaging features of the phone include email and instant messaging options through Windows Live, AOL and Yahoo. Most popular features of the handset could be accessed with one-touch keys. The integrated 2-megapixel resolution camera of the handset is equipped with 2.5x zoom, multi shot and video recording capabilities. Samsung Gravity 2 supports up to 40MB of internal memory.
The memory of the Samsung handset could be expanded up to 16GB with microSD and SDHC memory cards. Samsung Gravity 2 runs on quad band GSM and dual band UMTS networks. The high-speed data transfer supported by 3G connectivity of the device is appropriate for browsing the internet.
T-Mobile subscribers could access the carrier’s Web2go service to customize their internet viewing. Users can create a personalized home page with short cuts to access popular websites, Yahoo OneSearch and live news feeds. The integrated A-GPS of the Gravity 2 handset will be served by T-Mobile’s TeleNav service.
The display of Gravity 2 supports images of 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 262K colors. Samsung Gravity 2 features MP3 player with AAC support. However, FM radio and push to talk features are missing from this handset.
Samsung Gravity 2 has a slim body measuring 114mm (length) x 52mm (wide) x 15mm (depth). It weighs 125 grams. The 1000mAh Li-Ion battery of the handset supports up to 5.50 hours of talk time and 300 hours of stand by time.
Samsung Gravity 2 will be available in berry mauve and metallic pumpkin colors. It will cost $30 with a two-year service contract from T-Mobile.
