Skin Care with Milk

When we drink milk, our body gets significant amounts of protein, fat, lactose, calcium, vitamins A, B2, B12 and D and zinc. Besides deriving essential nutrients from milk, we can also use milk to enhance our natural beauty. Milk is used in several beauty treatments.

For fairer complexion
From sun tanning and pollution, our skin becomes dull and dark. To improve your complexion and make it appear fairer and brighter you can apply milk on your skin. Soak five to six almonds and equal amount of dates in milk for about five to six hours. Now make a paste with the almonds and dates and apply it on your face. Leave the almond and date paste on your face for about half an hour or until the paste dries completely. Gently massage your face for a few seconds. Rinse your face with cool water. Your complexion will instantly appear brighter and fresher.

Add one teaspoon of turmeric paste, one teaspoon of lemon or orange peel to about four teaspoons of milk to form a thick paste. Apply the paste allover your face. Leave the paste for half an hour or until the paste becomes dry. Moisten your palm and gently massage your face, with circular upward movement, for about five minutes. Wash your face with cool water and your skin will look brighter. For best results, you must take this milk-based facemask at least twice every week.

For dry skin
Milk is extremely beneficial for dry skin. If your skin is dry, dip cotton in cold milk and apply it allover your face. Leave the milk on your face for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse your face with cool water. You can also add 1/2 teaspoon honey to one-tablespoon milk and apply the mixture on your face. Along with honey, mix one teaspoon mashed banana to the milk. Allow the milk and honey mixture to remain on your face for about fifteen minutes and then wash your face.
