Samsung Epic 4G Arriving On Sprint

After launching HTC Evo 4G, Sprint is now preparing to introduce its second 4G device dubbed Samsung Epic 4G.

Besides being the second 4G enabled phone in the US, Samsung Epic 4G will be the first 4G enabled Samsung smart phone to run on the Android operating system.

Samsung Epic 4G belongs to the Galaxy S smartphone family of the Korean cell phone maker. It is one of the latest Samsung devices with premium quality display and robust speed. Moreover, Samsung Epic 4G incorporates messaging, social networking and multimedia functionalities at 4G speed on the super AMOLED touch screen display.

Samsung Epic 4G will run on the Android 2.1 platform. The robust speed and multiple features of the smart device will be powered by the 1GHZ Hummingbird Application processor. The 4-inch super AMOLED capacitive display will support high-resolution images.

The touch sensitive screen of the Samsung phone supports pinch-to-zoom feature. This upcoming Sprint device will even support 3G connectivity of the carrier. Switching to 3G connectivity might help to save battery life of the device.

Users of this stunning smartphone could access the Android Market, which currently features over 50,000 apps. Samsung has loaded Epic 4G with the Google full HTML browser to provide netbook like web surfing experience. This Samsung phone allows users to perform multiple activities simultaneously. Therefore, Samsung Epic 4G users could talk on the phone while surfing the internet.

Samsung Epic 4G carries a 5-megapixel camera with camcorder, autofocus, LED flash, 3 x digital zoom. The camcorder could be used for shooting high definition videos. A VGA camera mounted on the front of the phone could be used for video chatting. The Qik video app loaded in the Samsung 4G Android phone will support video chatting and video sharing.

The AllShare service of Samsung will allow Samsung Epic 4G users to transfer videos, pictures and music stored in Epic 4G to DLNA certified devices. Samsung Epic 4G features 1GB of on board storage space. Memory of the device could be expanded up to 32 GB with microSD card. Samsung Epic 4G also features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, media player and Samsung Social Hub.
