Salsa Recipes

Salsa is not only delicious, but it is even good for your health. This Mexican dish blends fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices. Here are some simple salsa recipes that you can try at home.

Mango Salsa



Ingredients

Two cups of diced ripe mango
One jalapeno chili
One medium sized onion
One cup of diced cucumber
Three tablespoons of limejuice
Three tablespoons of chopped cilantro leaves
Salt and pepper to taste



Method of preparation

Deseed and mince the jalapeno chili. Instead of jalapeno, you can even use red bell pepper. Chop the onions. In a large bowl, add the mango, jalapeno, onion, cucumber, cilantro leaves, limejuice, salt and pepper. Mix the ingredients well and your mango salsa is ready.




Chicken with mango salsa

Ingredients

1 ½ cups of chopped mango
Six ounce of skinless and boneless chicken breasts
One medium sized onion, fined chopped
Six ounce of orange juice
Two tablespoons of limejuice
One jalapeno, deseeded and finely chopped
Two tablespoons of cilantro leaves
Salt and pepper to taste

Method of preparation

Marinate the chicken breasts with orange juice, salt and pepper. Refrigerate the marinated chicken breasts for about two hours. Remove the chicken breasts from the refrigerator and grill them until they become brown on both sides.

In a large bowl, add the mango, onion, limejuice, cilantro, salt and pepper and blend the ingredients. Top the grilled chicken breasts with the mango salsa.

Tomato Salsa

Ingredients

Two cups of diced tomatoes
One cup of corn
½ cup of black olives
One deseeded and diced red bell pepper
One teaspoon of minced jalapeno chili
Two tablespoons of limejuice
Two tablespoon of olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Method of preparation

In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salsa for an hour.

Black Bean Salsa

Ingredients

Two cups of cooked black beans
One cup of corn
One cup of diced tomatoes
Two tablespoons of chopped cilantro leaves
One teaspoon of finely chopped garlic
One medium sized onion, finely chopped
One jalapeno pepper, deseeded and chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

Method of preparation

In a large bowl, mix the ingredients. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least two hours.
