Remedies for Tinnitus
Tinnitus is a buzzing, roaring, ringing, whistling, hissing or pulsating sound heard in the ear. This sound can be produced by inner ear, outer ear, middle ear or brain. There are two types of tinnitus and they are subjective tinnitus and objective tinnitus. In subjective tinnitus the sound produced by the head or ear can be heard by the patient only while in objective tinnitus the doctor can also hear the sound if carefully observed with the help of a stethoscope.
Tinnitus can be developed due to age as the nerve associated with hearing may get impaired with age. It can also be due to the ear wax, ear tumor, thyroid problem, hardening of the inner ear bone, problems in blood circulation, head injury, high or low blood pressure, certain medications like diuretic, aspirin etc. The exposure to loud noises may also cause tinnitus. First you need to identify the reason for tinnitus and then need to treat the disease otherwise it may cause hearing loss.
Home Remedies for Tinnitus
You need to take a diet which is rich in vitamin B, A and E. You need to include more of choline, zinc, protein in your diet. The best way to get all these is to consume a lot of vegetables and fruits. Add lot of sea vegetable, kelp, garlic in your food. Pineapples will reduce the inflammation in the ears and thus reduces tinnitus while dry fruits will improve the blood circulation and avoid tinnitus problems related to blood circulation.
Try to avoid foods that contain saturated fats like diary products. Also avoid salt, sugar, processed foods, tea, coffee, refined alcohol, sweet foods as all these food items may lead to tinnitus. Exercise regularly and this will help you to improve the blood circulation and also to keep your blood pressure under control.
Ginkgo biloba or Maidenhair Tree
Take the extract from any of these herbs and drop 20 to 40 milligram of these extract in to the affected ear. Continue this for about 6 weeks and this may help you to dilate the blood vessels in the ear and there by increases the flow of blood to the ear.
If the loud surroundings cause tinnitus problems in you then it will be ideal to keep ear plugs in your ear.
Mix one teaspoon glycerin with one teaspoon warm water. Spray this liquid to your nose with the help of a nasal spray bottle and continue the spraying till the liquid drains to the back of the throat. Then spray the throat too with this liquid. This may help you to reduce the ringing sound in the ear.
