Cystic Fibrosis is a disease caused by a defective gene. It is a congenital disease in which the intestines, lungs and pancreas get clogged with thick mucus. There is no cure for this disease. Kid’s having this disease require a high calorie diet to meet their nutritional requirement. Here are some recipes that provide the necessary dietary requirements of the affected kids.



Baked Creamy Chicken

Set the oven by preheating it at a temperature of 350 degree F. Now  get a large baking dish and place four boneless and skinless chicken breasts in it. Then keep one and a half oz Swiss cheese slice over each chicken breast.



In another bowl mix half can condense cream of chicken soup and two tablespoon of chicken broth or white cooking wine. Stir them well to get a fine mixture and pour this mixture over the chicken breast.

Take a small bowl and to this add half cup of bread crumbs and quarter cup of melted butter and mix them well. Now sprinkle the bread crumbs on top of the chicken and bake the chicken for about 50 minutes. Make sure that the chicken is cooked well with out any pink flesh inside.




One chicken breast will offer 502 calories to your kid along with 55 gram protein, 27 gram fat and with some sodium and calcium.

Macaroni and Cheese

Boil six cups of water in a pan and to this add 7.25 oz that is one packet of macaroni and cheese dinner. Stir the contents well in between and boil the entire contents for about 10 minutes. Drain the excess water from the macaroni and keep it aside.

Keep a frying pan in low heat and to this add quarter cup of butter, quarter cup of heavy whipping cream, two tablespoon powdered skim milk and half cup shredded cheddar cheese. Also add the cheese sauce mix obtained from the macaroni and cheese dinner packet. Add the boiled macaroni to the pan and mix the entire content well. Keep the pan in low heat till the entire cheese gets melted. Now your macaroni cheese is ready and one cup of this will give your kid 563 calories along with 16 gram protein and 32 gram fat.
