Nokia Brings Messaging Phone 6760 Slide

According to Nokia, the upcoming Nokia 6760 Slide, made particularly for the European market, will be a Nokia Surge look-alike.

The new Nokia Slide is another feature phone from Nokia. It focuses on social networking sites, which includes Facebook and Twitter. To enhance the messaging capability of the phone, the handset features include direct access to instant messaging services such as Google Talk and Windows Live. Push email available through Nokia Email service, allows users direct access to up to ten email accounts from prominent email service providers.

The 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display of the Nokia 6760 Slide display is fitted with an accelerometer, which allows users to view images, browse the web and play games both in the portrait as well as in the landscape view. The slide out full QWERTY keyboard of the phone is designed for easy typing.

Nokia 6760 Slide is also useful for finding locations. The handset comes with an integrated GPS with preloaded Nokia Maps. The premium navigational services, available after paying the requisite charge, will enable users to find locations by viewing terrain, satellite and 3D maps.

The 3.2-megapixel camera of Nokia 6760 Slide is fitted with 4x Zoom and CMOS sensor. This Nokia phone comes with 120MB internal memory. The storage capacity of the device could be further expanded up to 8GB with microSD memory card. A 2GB memory card will be shipped with the handset. Nokia 6760 Slide will also feature MP3 player and FM radio. Nokia Music store will be preinstalled in this device. The battery of Nokia 6760 Slide will support up to 5 hours of talk time and 500 hours of stand by time. Nokia 6760 Slide will run on GSM and WCDMA networks. This new Nokia handset measures 98mm (height) x 58mm (width) x 16mm (depth) and weighs 124 grams.

Nokia 6760 Slide will cost $285 and will be available from the third quarter of this year.
