New Cyber-shot DSC-TX1 & WX1 For Shooting In Low Light

cyber-shot-dsc-tx1 With conventional digital cameras, it is extremely difficult to capture detailed pictures in low light conditions. To capture night scenes, digital cameras and camcorders relied primarily on the CMOS sensors.

Advantages of Exmor R
Through its innovative technology, Sony has developed Exmor R CMOS Sensor, which uses back illumination technology to enhance the quality of pictures shot in low light condition. By placing the metal wiring below the photo diode, Exmor R CMOS sensors use the available light more efficiently than standard CMOS sensors. Moreover, the noise reduction technology of Exmor R is more efficient than standard CMOS sensors. Exmor R is not only ideal for taking photographs in low light condition. Its advanced functionalities are equally applicable in shooting in very bright light. It helps to capture smear free images in the presence of very bright light.

Exmor R in Cyber-shot cameras
Given the myriads of advantages of Exmor R technology, we were waiting to see its application in compact digital cameras. Sony has finally incorporated this stunning technology in its two new Cyber-shot cameras – Cyber-shot DSC-TX1 and Cyber-shot DSC-WX1.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX1
Cyber-shot DSC-TX1 is a 10.2-megapixel camera with 4x optical zoom lens. Sony has used Carl Zeiss-Vario Tessar lens for its new Cyber-shot camera. While the telescopic zoom is suited for capturing distant scenes, the camera lens is equally capable of taking close ups of objects, only 0.4 inches away from the lens. It has a 3-inch LCD touch display. To reduce camera shake, DSC-HX1 features Optical SteadyShot. The Sweep Panorama feature, which was first added to Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX1 digital camera, has been incorporated also in DSC-TX1. Wide-angle lens is needed to capture vast landscape scenes.

Sweep Panorama mode further enhances the capability of wide-angle shooting. The High-Speed Shooting mode is aptly designed to capture action scenes. Bionz imaging processor blends a number of scenes to create a single large image. The Intelligent Auto mode of the camera helps to adjust settings according to lighting condition, scenes and faces. The Intelligent Scene feature allows users to select among nine shooting modes. The Pet mode is specifically designed to capture the activities of your pets. Moreover, DSC-TX1 also features Smile Shutter, Face Detection, Auto Focus and HD video shooting capability. TX1 will be available from September for $380.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX1
WX1 has 2.7-inch touch display and 5x optical zoom lens. Rests of its features are same as that of TX1.  WX1 will be available from October and will cost $350.
