Motorola Introduces Rugged Quantico

Motorola Quantico After the much-trumpeted release of Motorola Droid and its European version Motorola Milestone, Motorola has quietly unveiled a rugged cell phone. Motorola Quantico is the latest rugged cell phone created by Motorola. Motorola has already created rugged cell phones for major US wireless carriers. Early this year, Motorola created Tundra exclusively for AT&T, and in September end Barrage entered the Verizon domain. Now it is time for smaller carriers such as MetroPCS and Cricket Wireless to receive a rugged phone from Motorola.

Motorola Quantico features
Build according to the Military Specification 810F standards, Motorola Quantico could withstand harsh environmental conditions. The body of the phone is wrapped in rubber casing with textured patterns. This phone could endure low pressure, extreme temperature, solar radiation, shock, vibration, humidity, dust, salt fog and rain. You can also carry your Motorola Quantico handset to your bathtub. This rugged handset could withstand up to 1 meter of water pressure for up to 30 minutes. This Motorola handset will retain its basic communication features despite being severely manhandled by its owner. The technical specifications of Motorola Quantico are quite ordinary.

The 1-inch thin clamshell handset carries a 2.2 inches internal display with 176 x 220 pixels resolution and 65K colors support. The 120 x 160 pixels external display measures 1.6 inches. Motorola Quantico has a simple 1.3 megapixel camera with fixed focus. To ensure clarity in sound two audio speakers are fitted to the handset. To facilitate hands free calls or for listening to music through wireless headsets, Motorola Quantico has integrated Bluetooth support. This phone features multimedia player that supports music and video playback. Motorola Quantico will run on the CDMA network.

Text messaging, picture messaging, instant messaging and email are supported by this Motorola device. Quantico has an integrated browser for surfing the internet. The built in GPS will enable users to locate destinations on the move. With microSD memory card, external memory of the handset could be expanded up to 8GB. Motorola Quantico also comes with 2.5mm headset jack and USB port. The battery of the handset will support up to 5.8 hours of talk time and up to 18.6 days of standby time.
