Have you ever thought that candles could be used for massaging your body? You might be startled by the idea of suffering from skin burn after this unique massage therapy. But rest assured massage candles will not burn your skin. These are no ordinary wax candle used for lighting.

These special candles melt at low temperature, around 101 degrees Fahrenheit, which is enough to provide your body warmth without burning your skin. Massage therapy using massage candles is comparable to a refreshing hot oil massage.

Ingredients in massage candle

Along with traditional candle ingredients such as beeswax, massage candle contains several natural massage oils. Soy oil is the main ingredient in most massage candle recipes. You might even find popular moisturizing and skin care substances such as shea butter, avocado butter, jojoba oil, cocoa butter and sunflower seed oil in the massage candle.

Uses of massage candles

While body massage is the main function of massage candles, you can even use these oil candles for lighting your room. The fragrance emitted while burning these candles will create a calm ambiance in your room. The fragrance of the burning essential oil could be used for aromatherapy treatment. Massage candles are most suitable for rejuvenating dry and aging skins. The moisturizing action of the melting candle could repair cracked heels and dry elbows. Massage candles are suitable options for pedicure and manicure.

Using massage candles

First light the massage candle. Make sure that the wick is small. Burn the candle for as long as you can get enough molten wax for massaging your body. Massage your body with the molten wax. Some massage candles could be used without burning the candle. Simply scrape some wax from the body of the candle and apply it on your body. Your normal body temperature is enough to melt the ingredients.

Massage candle is only suitable for body massage. It should not be used as a facial. Before buying a massage candle, check the label of the package to see that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients present in the candle. It is advisable to check a small area of your skin for signs of allergies before using the candle for massage.
