Martini Recipes

Martini is a classic cocktail of alcoholic beverages. Traditional martini recipes comprise of vermouth and gin, garnished with a green olive or slice of lemon. Modern day martini recipes have departed from the classic recipe. Now fruit juices and even chocolates are used for making this popular cocktail. There is some confusion on whether the martini should be stirred or shaken. Some studies claim that the content of antioxidants is slightly higher in shaken martini. Here are some martini recipes that you can try.

Vodka Martini

Two ounces of vodka
One teaspoon of dry vermouth
Ice cubes
One green olive

Method of preparation
Pour the dry vermouth, vodka and crushed ice in a cocktail shaker. Close the lid of the shaker and shake the ingredients well for about 20 to 30 seconds. Strain and pour the drink in a glass. Drop a green olive in the drink. To give the drink a classy look, garnish with a twist of lemon rind on the rim of the martini glass.

Chocolate Martini

6ml of vodka
One teaspoon of dry vermouth
4gms of chocolate, for best results use dark chocolate
One tablespoon of double cream
Ice cubes as desired

Method of preparation
Take a bowl and break the chocolate bars. Take a container that is larger than the bowl in which you have kept the chocolates. Pour water in the large container and bring the water to boil. Place the bowl containing the crushed chocolate bars in the container containing boiling water. Stir the chocolate as it starts to melt. Remove the bowl from the fire after the chocolate melts completely. Now add the cream to the molten chocolate and mix the ingredients properly. Take a cocktail shaker and add the vodka and dry vermouth. Pour the chocolate sauce and add crushed ice cubes. Shake the ingredients for at least 30 seconds. Strain and pour the chocolate martini in a martini glass. Drop a small piece of chocolate in the chilled drink.

Apple martini

One ounce of vodka
One ounce of apple juice
One ounce of sour apple schnapps
Crushed ice cubes

Method of preparation
Pour the vodka, apple juice and sour apple schnapps and crushed ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake the ingredients well. Strain and pour the apple martini in a glass. Place a slice of apple on the rim of the glass.
