We knew for some time that HTC is working on a new device codenamed HTC Mega. Finally, HTC has officially launched this new HTC smartphone, which it has named HTC Touch2. Other than Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X2, HTC Touch2 will be another new smartphone to run on the latest Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.
HTC Touch2 features
This upcoming HTC phone will feature a touch sensitive display. The user-friendly touch interface will allow users to make calls, check emails, reply emails, access apps, and social network sites simply by moving their fingertips on the phone’s display. The 2.8-inch display of the Touch2 handset is powered by the advanced TouchFLO technology. The display is equipped with accelerometer and compass. You can add widgets on the home screen of the phone. The popular apps preinstalled in the HTC Touch2 phone include Google Maps for Mobile, YouTube, weather updates, Microsoft My Phone and Windows Marketplace for Mobile.
The new Microsoft My Phone service enables automatic backup. It also syncs photos, contacts, music and text message between Touch2 handset and the Web. Windows Marketplace for Mobile is the place from where you can download apps of your choice on your Touch2 handset. The Microsoft Office Suite integrated in the Touch2 handset allows users to edit documents. You can synchronize you emails accounts, check and manage several accounts with the help of Microsoft Exchange.
The Internet Explorer Mobile preinstalled in HTC Touch2 displays desktop like web page on the HTC Touch2 screen. The Internet Explorer Mobile powered browser of HTC Touch2 supports Adobe Flash, suitable for viewing YouTube videos. The zoom bar allows users to optimize the size of the text. Users can also pan and zoom to locate their desired apps.
HTC Touch2 sports a 3.2-megapixel camera with zoom, auto focus and video recording capabilities. Touch2 comes with MP3 player, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Navigation with the integrated GPS of HTC Touch2 will be supported by the Google Maps for Mobile. HTC Touch2 will run on quad band GSM and dual band WCDMA networks. The 1100mAH Li-Ion phone battery supports up to 7.33 hours talk time and up to 370 hours of standby time. The internal 256MB storage space of the HTC phone could be expanded with microSD memory card.
