The cell phone market might have been flooded with Nokia, RIM, Apple, Motorola, LG and Samsung devices, but this does not mean that cell phones made by other rival manufacturers are less attractive. HP, which is a big name in the computing sector, has created a niche for itself in the cell phone domain with its iPAQ series phones.
Incorporating its mobile computing expertise in the iPAQ handsets, HP has created smartphones suitable for business professionals. The latest phone to join the HP iPAQ family is HP iPAQ Glisten. Running on the robust Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, HP iPAQ Glisten is a great smartphone to boast.
HP iPAQ Glisten features
Flaunting a BlackBerry like design, HP iPAQ Glisten sports a 2.5 inches AMOLED touch screen. Compared with the LCD display, the AMOLED screen will suck less battery juice and will display crispier images, which you can view with minimal eyestrain. You can type your messages with ease on the QWERTY keyboard of the iPAQ Glisten handset. This HP phone also comes with a 3.1 megapixels camera, equipped with 5x digital zoom and fixed focus.
To enhance the audio quality of the smartphone, a microphone, receiver and speaker are integrated in the handset. This phone also comes with 3.5mm headset jack and micro USB port. The Bluetooth enabled HP smartphone could be connected to Bluetooth compatible devices. Although, HP has not incorporated the super fast Snapdragon processor in this handset, but the Qualcomm 7200A 528 MHz processor of HP iPAQ Glisten will be fast enough for most of your communication and computing tasks. With 256MB RAM and 512MB internal storage space, HP iPAQ Glisten will be an impressive mobile computing device. Web browsing is supported by Internet Explorer 6 with integrated Adobe Flash support. HP iPAQ Glisten features Microsoft Office Mobile, PDF viewer and document readers. The integrated inbox brings all your emails, call history and text messages within a single frame.
For social networking freaks, a Facebook app is preloaded in the handset. For hands-free communication, you can switch on the speakerphone of the HP smartphone. The Voice Commander app installed in HP iPAQ Glisten will facilitate voice dialing, read aloud emails and text messages and announce calendar events. The 3G enabled handset will even support WiFi wireless internet connection.
Price and availability
HP iPAQ Glisten will be available for $179.99 along with a two-year AT&T service contract, after a $50 mail-in rebate.
