Ingredients for Tart with Red Plums



For the topping you need 2 tablespoons of seedless raspberry preserves, 6 red plums, 1 tablespoon of wheat germ, and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar.

You can also use other plums. Make sure to pit and finely slice them. In order to make the crust you require 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour, 2/3 cup of whole-wheat pastry flour, 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons of canola oil or walnut oil, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of ice-cold water, and 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar.

Steps for Making the Tart



First, preheat your oven to 400 F. To prepare the crust, mix the flours, sugar, butter, walnut oil, and salt in a food processor. The mixture should look like moist sand. Make dough by adding ice water gradually. Roll the dough into a four-inch circle and cover it completely with a plastic wrap. Roll it further to make a thin and 10-inch circle. Keep it in the freezer for about 5 minutes. Take it out of the freezer and remove the plastic wrap.

Take a round tart pan that has a detachable bottom and keep it on a good nonstick baking sheet. Place the rolled out dough into the tart pan and chop of the extra bits from the sides. Don’t throw them. Mix the extra bits of dough with the wheat germ and sugar in a food processor. In the tart shell, smear half of this.




Place the plum slices in an overlapping fashion in the tart shell. Microwave the fruit preserves on high power only for 20 seconds. Spread the preserves on the plums and dust the rest of the wheat germ mixture. Bake it for about 50 minutes until the top becomes slightly brown.
