How to Make Lip Balms at Home
Lip balm plays an important role in beautifying your face. In cold winter there may be cracks, sores or chap in the lips. In order to protect the lips from the harsh environmental effects you can use lip balms. You can make lip balms at your home itself and you can make lip balms having a hint of color or glossy sheen.
Homemade lip balms has advantages over the market made ones as these homemade balms does not contains any artificial colors, and preservatives. This will be very useful for people having sensitive skin.
While making balms you can also add skin nourishing ingredients like cocoa butter, shea butter, sesame oil etc. More than that you have the chance to experiment with different essential oils, flavor oil and other ingredients while making the balm and can select the one that is particular to your skin type.
Recipes for Lip Balm
Take 2 teaspoon grated beeswax in a microwave safe bowl and to this add 2 and Â¼th teaspoon jojoba oil. Melt the wax and oil together in a microwave or in a double boiler. Once the entire contents melts take then out from the fire and stir them well to mix them up. Then add 6 drops of peppermint essential oil to the mixture. Now you can store it in container. If you prefer a glossy lip balm then instead of 2 and Â¼ teaspoon add 3 teaspoon jojoba oil.
Aniseed and lemon lip balm will moisturize your skin and will provide good lubrication and taste to your lips. For this take one tablespoon sunflower oil and to this add one teaspoon turmeric powder and heat it in microwave or double boiler. Now keep aside this yellow color. In another pan add 2 tablespoon calendula oil, 4 tablespoon almond oil, 2 tablespoon apricot kernel oil, one tablespoon beeswax pellets, one drop honey and five drops yellow color. Heat the contents in the pan and stir them continuously.
When the beeswax melts open vitamin E capsules and adds two capsule contents in the pan. Then remove the entire contents from the heat and add 2 drops of aniseed and 3 drops of lemon. And mix them well. Pack the balm in a container and use it daily.
Take 2 teaspoon olive oil, Â½ teaspoon each of grated beeswax and shea butter or cocoa butter in a pan and heat this mixture in low heat till the entire contents melts. Then mix them well and add any of the flavored oil, and one vitamin E capsule. Stir the entire content well and store in a container.
