If one is a junk food addict, its no wonder that every time a huge cheesy pizza is shown on the television, one feels like snatching a slice of it out of the television and cram it in their mouths.
But the very next moment he remembers his bulging waistline and recalls his dietician’s strict warning to shed off those extra kilos. Of course, if given a choice most of us will prefer pizzas, burgers and spicy French fries to a simple home diet.
However, whether you believe it or not; there are healthier and tastier alternatives which can substitute your junk food craving. Here are some healthy snacks that can be tried out every time your tummy rumbles:
A spicy fruit salad
Fruits are the most nutritious food you could use in a snack and also help in losing weight. To make a fruit salad, assimilate a rich collection of fruits like strawberries, apples, kiwi fruit, melon, grapes, pineapples, blueberries etc. and cut them into small, angular pieces.
Mix them together and add a spoon of honey, a squeeze of lemon juice and a pinch of salt. Add some crushed pieces of ice if you like it chilled.
Sprouted bean salad
One can also make a low calorie and lip smacking snack with sprouted beans and peas. For making a sprouted bean salad, put a cup of water in a pan and add the beans and sprouts to it. Add finely chopped coriander leaves, red bell peppers, green chilies, salt and a little bit of ginger paste to them. Stir for ten minutes and eat it hot.
Crunchy sandwiches
Sandwiches can turn out to be a tasty option next to a burger. Take two slices of brown bread. Take some minced chicken and boil it.
In a frying pan, drop a tea spoon of oil and add half a cup of finely chopped onions, garlic and green chilies to it. Stir and fry at medium heat until the onions look brownish gold.
Now add the minced chicken to the mixture. Add a bit of black pepper and salt for taste. Stir for 5-7 minutes. Now toast the bread slices and stuff the chicken filling between them.
It is difficult to get rid off junk food craving. However, such simple recipes gradually help to change our dietary flavors and help to control our eating habits.
