Stretch mark is a result of pregnancy. As the tummy stretches beyond a limit the skin loses its collagen and elasticity. Then the skin can’t go back to its normal position and the collagen present in the skin may also get damaged and thus leaving stripe like marks on the skin. This may affect the appearance of the skin. Stretch may also appear due to the excessive weight gain with in a limited period of time. The best method to avoid stretch marks is preventing the occurrence of stretch marks. Some tips in this regard are as follows


In order to prevent the formation of stretch marks you have to take  lot of fruits and vegetables. Vegetables and fruits may provide you with a lot of nutrients and anti-oxidants that may help you to keep your skin in good condition. Have a well balanced diet and control your weight gain. Take 1 or 2 liters of water a day and it will help you to keep hydrated and this will also impart elasticity to your skin.

Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter has the powers to replenish and hydrate the skin. Use cocoa butter creams to rub on the skin where there are chances of developing the stretch marks.

Vitamin E

Take some vitamin E oil and rub it over the stretch mark just after the shower and repeat this at evening also. This will lighten the stretch mark along with rejuvenating the skin. Rubbing oil in to the stretch marks will improve the blood circulation in that region and will nourish the skin.

Exfoliate the skin

Take a mixture of oat meal and baking soda and rub it on your stretched skin. This will help you to lighten the stretch marks. An apricot scrub will also work for the same.

Lavender Oil

Get a carrier oil like jojoba oil, sweet almond oil or avocado oil and to this add seven drops of lavender oil and 1 0r 2 drops of chamomile oil. Mix the oils well and massage it on the stretched skin.

Aloe Vera Gel

Take ¼ cup of aloe vera gel, ½ cup of olive oil and liquid taken from 4 capsules of vitamin A and 6 capsules of vitamin E. mix all the ingredients well and store it in a closed lid jar with in a refrigerator. Now apply the mixture on the regions prone to have stretch marks and practice this daily to prevent stretch marks.
