Sony has launched two new camcorders – HDR-CX520V and HDR-CX500V Handycam. Both the models share same features, differing primarily in their storage capacity. Both the models have incorporated the latest upgrades in Sony’s camcorder technology.
HDR-CX520V and HDR-CX500V features
Both the camcorder models are capable of capturing 12-megapixel photographs and 1920×1080-pixel high definition videos. When connected to HDTV, these camcorder models, featuring 60p output, converts video recordings instantly to 60 progressive frames per second.
Upgraded shake control
Sony has taken every care to eliminate camera shake in any form from these models. The Optical SteadyShot with active mode, featuring in the latest Sony camcorder models, has been upgraded to include 3-Way Shake Canceling. While using HDR-CX520V and HDR-CX500V, vertical and horizontal shakes will be taken care of through the optical image stabilization technology. Lateral roll shake will be corrected with the help of electronic image stabilization. These camcorder models could also prevent image blurring caused by wrist movements, with wide camera shake correction angle and better compensation algorithms.
Upgraded Face Touch feature
High-end Sony camcorders boast the Face Touch feature. This feature helps users to choose their focus by simply touching the preferred area on the display. This feature has been further improved in the new Sony camcorders by adding Bionz imaging processor of Sony. Now you can optimize focus, skin color and the brightness of the selected face even after the individual leaves the scene. Moreover, as soon as you activate the Face Touch feature of the camcorder, the Smile Shutter feature automatically starts functioning. Smile shutter captures the smiling profile of the individual selected through Face Touch.
Good image quality in all conditions
To capture images in poor light condition, these camcorders are fitted with a backlit Exmor R CMOS sensor. The new backlit CMOS sensor is an improved version of the front-illuminated CMOS sensor. To ensure sharp and detailed image quality, these camcorders are supported by advanced G lens.
These camcorder models feature a 3-inch wide touch panel LCD display, built-in GPS and preloaded NAVTEQ digital map for geo tagging.
HDR-CX500V will cost $1,100 and HDR-CX520V will carry a $1,300 price tag. Both the camcorders will be available from September.
