Ginger Drinks

Ginger drinks are found to be highly energizing drinks and that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. Ginger has got medicinal properties and can be used for treating morning sickness, nausea, motion sickness, indigestion etc. Fresh ginger can be used for making spicy refreshing drinks.

Canton Ginger Drinks



This is a golden colored cocktail made with ginger syrup, ginger liqueur and lemon juice. Take a glass jar and to this add a little ginger syrup, six ounce ginger liqueur, one cup vodka and half cup lime juice. Mix them well and add to six tall glasses containing ice cubes. Then pour soda or seltzer to each glass and then decorate it with a few slices of candied ginger and lemon wedges.

Ginger Soft Drink



Take one cup of grated ginger roots in a pot and to this add one cup of sugar, two teaspoon cloves and four cinnamon sticks. Take six cups of water in a sauce pan and boil it. Add this boiling water to the pot containing ginger root mixture. Now cover this pot and keep it aside in a warm spot under the sun for about an hour.

Then take the pot back to the room and strain the liquid from the pot through a fine cloth or sieve. Then add one cup of orange juice and half cup of lime juice to this mixture and combine them well. Now pour eight cups of water to the pot and again keep the pot in a warm place for another one hour.




After an hour strain the liquid from the pot, with out disturbing the sediments that are settled at the bottom. Store this liquid in a closed glass jar. You can either serve this liquid warm or keep it in the refrigerator for chilling. If prefers you can dilute this liquid with sparkling water and ice cubes.

Ginger and Lemon Drink

Take a glass jar and to this add two sliced lemon, one handful of peeled and sliced ginger and three tablespoon of brown sugar. Then add two liter of boiling water to the jar and keep the mixture for cooling. This may allow the flavors to infuse in to the liquid. Strain the liquid and add extra sugar if needed. Get tall glasses and add ice cubes to it. Then pour this mixture on top of the ice cubes and garnish with mint sprigs and serve.
