Cricket CAPTR – The Cheapest Cricket Camera Phone

Cricket Wireless While Verizon, AT&T and Sprint are dominating the US wireless market, Cricket Wireless is gradually increasing its popularity among consumers with its unlimited wireless data plans. To expand its consumer base further, Cricket has launched a new mobile phone, dubbed Cricket CAPTR (pronounced as kap-chur). This new Cricket phone will be the cheapest camera phone from the carrier.

Cricket CAPTR features
Cricket CAPTR sports a chic clamshell form. The sleek and slim body of the phone is 3.54-inch long, 1.18-inch wide and 0.74-inch thin. It is pretty lightweight, weighing 2.82 oz. Cricket CAPTR features a primary (internal) and a secondary (external) display. The 1.8-inch main display of the phone supports 128 x 160-pixel resolution images and features 262K color support.



The 1-inch CSTN color secondary display of 96 x 96 pixels resolution supports 65K colors. CAPTR sports a standard keypad. Cricket MyHomeScreen function allows users to personalize the homescreen of the phone without paying any extra charge to the carrier. Users can add widgets and apps, and access information about their account and other contents speedily with this customizable service of Cricket. The 0.3 megapixel VGA camera of the phone is equipped with zoom. Cricket CAPTR will run on Cricket’s tri band CDMA network. It is Bluetooth enabled. Mini USB port and 2.5-inch headset jack also come with this device. Cricket CAPTR allows text and picture messaging. It also supports voice activated dialing. Apps such as Cricket Games and Applications and Mobile Web are preinstalled in this Cricket handset. Cricket CAPTR will however disappoint music lovers. There are no dedicated music control keys on the handset. Moreover, Cricket CAPTR doesn’t support music files.

The 920 mAh lithium Ion battery of the phone has enough juice to support up to 300 minutes of talk time and up to 250 hours of standby time. There is a simple E911 GPS integrated in the handset, supported by Cricket’s location based navigation services.
