Along with medications, psychotherapy is needed to correct behavioral problems. Cognitive behavior therapy is best suited for overcoming emotional difficulties. A person with post traumatic stress disorder is not encouraged to talk about the traumatic event. He/she should avoid alcohol, caffeine and nicotine. The patient needs plenty of rest.
