Alltel Wireless has brought two new handsets for its subscribers. The Samsung Glint will be a new Samsung phone for Alltel. Blackberry Tour, after arriving on Verizon and Sprint, has finally made its way into the domain of Alltel.
Samsung SCH-u350 Glint
Samsung Glint is a new mobile phone for Alltel from the Korean company.
This is a low-end device with modest features. Smartphone enthusiasts might easily ignore this Samsung device. But if your teenager son or daughter is pestering you for a cell phone, you can easily get him/her a Samsung Glint. The chic clamshell design of this phone is nonetheless quite impressive. Glint handset measures 3.78-inch (length) x 1.87-inch (width) x 0.76-inch (depth). It weighs about 3.35 oz. The text and picture message options of Samsung Glint, allow users to stay connected with friends on the go. Samsung Glint has standard features, such as a VGA camera with night mode, stereo Bluetooth and media player.
The 1.9-inch STN display of the phone supports images of 128 x 160-pixel resolution and 65K colors. This phone will run on CDMA dual band network. Samsung Glint will also include a built-in GPS. The battery of the handset will support up to 5 hours of talk time and 14 days of stand by time. Moreover, users can access Alltel services, ringtones and wallpapers from the mobile store of Alltel. Although, Alltel has dubbed this entry level Samsung phone as Samsung Glint, we had earlier seen a similar phone called Samsung Smooth on Verizon.
BlackBerry Tour 9630
After arriving on Verizon and Sprint, BlackBerry Tour will also be available from Alltel Wireless. This BlackBerry world phone is the appropriate device for the globetrotters. The 3G connectivity, allows users speedy data transfer. This RIM smartphone has a 2.44-inch display, 3.2-megapixel camera, built-in GPS, Bluetooth stereo, music player and microSD or SDHC card slot for expanding external memory up to 16GB with memory cards.
Alltel will be selling BlackBerry Tour for $199.99 along with a one-year service contract, after a $100 mail in rebate. Customers also have to subscribe to any Alltel Wireless Smart Choice data plan, whose lowest price is $69.99.
