BlackBerry Curve 8530 Comes On Verizon And Sprint

BlackBerry Curve 8530 Few months back, RIM created BlackBerry Curve 8520 for T-Mobile. A similar BlackBerry handset with minor variations has been created by RIM for Verizon Wireless and Sprint. The upcoming BlackBerry handset, dubbed BlackBerry Curve 8530 is a smartphone fitted with touch sensitive trackpad.

Borrowing the design of optical trackpad found in laptops, RIM has replaced the conventional trackball of cell phones with a touch sensitive optical trackpad. The predecessor of BlackBerry Curve 8530, Curve 8520 was the first BlackBerry model to feature an optical trackpad. This touch sensitive trackpad will enable users to scroll through menus and apps by simply gliding their fingers over the trackpad, and pressing and clicking to select and access the desired item. BlackBerry Curve 8530 has a full QWERTY keyboard.



With the help of dedicated media keys users can control the music and video players integrated in the handset. The LCD display of the smartphone comes with 320 x 240 pixels resolution and 65K colors support. BlackBerry Curve 8530 sports a 2-megapixel camera with 5x zoom and video recorder. It has integrated MP3 player. Incorporating 528MHz next generation processor, BlackBerry Curve 8530 will provide robust speed. Users can access BlackBerry App World to download their favorite applications and related contents on the BlackBerry Curve 8530 handset. Access to the internet will be supported by the BlackBerry Browser installed in the handset. Users can use this BlackBerry phone for finding directions with the integrated GPS supported by BlackBerry Maps. Verizon subscribers could use the VZ Navigator service of Verizon Wireless. BlackBerry Curve 8530 will support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity and PC syncing through USB 2.0 port. All messaging formats including SMS, MMS, email and instant messaging and access to social networking sites including Facebook and MySpace are supported by BlackBerry Curve 8530.

This BlackBerry device offers 256MB internal storage space. The external memory of the phone can be expanded with the help of microSD memory card. The rechargeable phone battery could support up to 4.50 hours of talk time and up to 252 hours of standby time. BlackBerry Curve 8530 will run on dual band CDMA network.



Price and availability
BlackBerry Curve 8530 will be available from November 20 in black and smoky violet colors. Verizon will offer the handset for $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate. Besides Verizon, Sprint will also offer this BlackBerry smartphone.
