AT&T Brings Samsung Captivate

Samsung Captivate, a member of Samsung’s Galaxy S smart-phone family, will arrive in the AT&T retail stores within a few months. Samsung has incorporated several outstanding communication features in this upcoming smartphone.

Samsung Captivate will run on the Android 2.1 operating system. It will be powered by Samsung’s Hummingbird Application processor. Besides providing robust speed, the 1 GHz Hummingbird Application processor will facilitate speedy downloads and uploads, stunning 3D graphics and HD-like images. Samsung Captivate will even offer 3D sound.

This full touchscreen smart-phone boasts a 4-inch super AMOLED display. With the help of the super-AMOLED technology, Samsung has packed the Samsung Captivate handset with a thinner display. The improved visibility feature of the upcoming smartphone will enable Captivate users to watch videos even in bright light.

Compared with standard displays, the super AMOLED display of Samsung Captivate will provide 20 percent brighter images with 80 percent less glare. The six-axis sensor of the phone along with the gyroscope and accelerometer will provide outstanding gaming experience. Moreover, Samsung Captivate has a new version of the TouchWiz user interface.

Samsung Captivate features a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus, zoom, action shot, smile shot, cartoon shot and panorama shot. The camcorder could be used for recording high-definition videos. A MP3 player and 3.5 mm audio jack have been integrated in the smartphone. Samsung Captivate has up to 16 GB of on-board storage capacity.

With the help of microSD card, external memory of the phone could be expanded up to 32 GB. The Media Hub preloaded in the Samsung Captivate handset will allow users to download videos and e-books. Samsung’s Social Hub application will enable Captivate users to connect to popular social networking sites, including Twitter and Facebook. To type texts at a faster speed, Swipe technology has been integrated in the virtual QWERTY keyboard of Samsung Captivate.

Captivate users could access popular Google apps and services such as GMail, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Talk, Google Calender. Apps and other downloadable contents could be downloaded from the Android Market. In addition, AT&T subscribers could access AT&T Mobile Music, AT&T Video, AT&T Address Book and AT&T Navigator.

This 3G enabled device will ensure speedy web browsing. It can be used in Wi-Fi zones.
