If you were wondering, why the Android phones should be the only smartphone handsets to be powered by the 1GHz Snapdragon processor, you have an answer at last. After AT&T unveiled the LG GW820 eXpo, it is clear that even the Windows Mobile smartphones can match the speed of their Android counterparts. Running on the Windows Mobile 6.5 platform, LG eXpo will be the first Win Mo phone in the United States to feature the 1GHz processor.
LG GW820 eXpo features
This device is aptly suited for the 7.2 Mbps High Speed Packet Access of AT&T. AT&T claims that its 3G network offers the fastest connectivity in United States. With the latest LG handset from AT&T, the American users of the device should not complain about sluggishness of their mobile handsets.
Along with the high-speed connectivity, LG eXpo is a sleek stylish smartphone sporting a touchscreen as well as a slide out full QWERTY keyboard. The 3.2 inches touchscreen with 16 million colors support promises to display sharp images. Users can access messages and apps directly from the home screen of the display by tapping the desired item of the menu. The 5-megapixel camera of the phone equipped with built-in flash could be used for snapping pictures and capturing videos. Users can read and edit documents with the help of the preinstalled Microsoft Office Mobile. To enhance web browsing, the revamped Internet Explorer Mobile browser is loaded in the LG eXpo device. To provide greater storage space, the external memory of LG eXpo could be expanded up to 16GB with microSD memory card. To ensure the safety of data stored in the smartphone, LG eXpo comes with Smart Sensor fingerprint recognition feature developed by AuthenTec.
Moreover, the Smart Sensor will also facilitate precise cursor control for editing texts and four way menu navigation. The turbo scroll feature will enable users to browse long contact lists, emails and websites rapidly. LG eXpo is the first smartphone to support LG Mobile Projector. This optional feature of the device will allow users to display presentations and videos, portrayed on the phone’s screen, on a surface up to 8 feet away from the handset.
Price and availability
LG eXpo will be available from December 7 for a price of $199.99 along with an AT&T contract. For the optional LG Mobile Projector you must pay $179.99 extra.
