A ‘blue’ wedding memory

bluee28099-wedding Remember the popular wedding rhyme ‘something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue?’ Most brides like to adopt this rhyme in their wedding. How about if you focus only on the ‘blue’ part and have a wedding where everything is blue?

This lovely color is harmonious, soothing, well-liked and suitable for both men and women. Besides, it has many different shades, each one lovelier than the other. Mix and match these hues, add some white, pearl, silver shades and create a beautiful, blue wedding.

Blue, blue everywhere
It is up to you to decide how you want to adopt the hues of blue in your wedding. Either you can select an overall blue look or limit the color’s use in smaller quantities. Remember that the effect should not be too overwhelming or in-your-face.

Blue flowers are a natural way to introduce this color into your reception. Cornflowers, hydrangeas or delphiniums are some of the options. Place these flowers in light blue vases as centerpieces for tables. The linen – tablecloths, ribbons and napkins – can be blue as well. Make sure these are all of the same shade of blue.

Blue attire
Not all brides would be open towards abandoning the traditional white dress for a blue one. However, if you are one of those who would, you can select a lighter shade of blue and highlight it with silver or white.

The other option is to have slight touches of blue against a white dress. Blue sashes and ribbons can be worked into a white gown. Grooms can wear blue vests or ties. Let the bridesmaids and groomsmen wear blue gowns and dark blue suits respectively. Of course, a little white should be added to break the monotony of the color.

Blue for the guests
Your blue wedding theme can be conveyed to the guests by blue-colored invitation cards. Wrap the favors in printed gift paper tied with a blue satin ribbon. These can be put in little blue gift bags.

Transform your wedding into a blue beauty!
